I grew up in a Christian home and went to church every time the doors were open, most of the time we were the ones opening the doors.  Mom played the piano and I played the drums for several years as a youth.  Music has always been a big part of my life.  We used to get together every weekend at my grandparent's house for a feast and then we would pick the guitars and banjos til midnight..or we'd get around the piano and sing every song in one of those old red or green back Baptist Hymnals.  It seemed like the whole neighborhood would come together during those times.

When I was around 10 years of age the Lord had been dealing with my heart and I knew it..but had not responded.  Our pastor at the time was Willie "Doc" Honea and he announced one Sunday morning that he felt like the Lord was calling him to another church and would be leaving.  I took this as a sign that this really was the last opportunity the Lord was giving me to get saved.  When the invitation came I ran to the altar and begged the Lord to forgive me and save me, and He did.

I wish I could tell you of a great story from there on out that I continued to grow in the Lord and all has been perfect since, but that's not the case.  To make it a short story for you, I thought I could do anything, take care of myself and conquer the world on my own.  God allowed me to prove many times that I couldn't.  He has whipped me more times than I can count and not as many as I deserve.  But through it all He has always been faithful and loving and met every need I have ever had.  He has blessed me more than anyone I know, and I am so thankful.  The least I can do is serve Him.

I really enjoy everything...My wife and I are involved in everything we can possibly get into and are always looking for other activities.  We stay on the go with family, church work, community events, and we love ministry in missions.  I love the outdoors-hunting, fishing, or just working.  We love to travel and have had the opportunity to visit the Caribbean a few times along with Alaska and Hawaii (if Hawaii wasn't so far from home I'd live there- haha!).

I am a mason in the local Masonic lodge and Kim and I serve on the SC Disaster Relief Team together.  I have been a Gideon and Kim in the Gideon's Auxiliary for the past two years and love the work that they do.  We have served in local missions many times and had the opportunity to serve in Brazil this past year.  We truly love mission work and helping others.

If I had to pick one thing outside of singing that I enjoy the most it would be my family.  I love my family and thank God each day for them.  In 2008 God gave me one of the greatest blessings I could ever imagine, and that was my first grandchild "Jack".  God is so GOOD!

My favorite food would have to be my dad and Uncle Dink's Santee Cooper fried catfish fillets.  My favorite tv show is Monday Night Football during the winter.  My favorite Move is Irving Berlin's "White Christmas" with Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye.  My favorite seasons are late fall and winter.  My favorite sport is college basketball...GO TARHEELS!  My favorite gospel quartets are the Cathedrals and the Kingdom Heirs and there are so many singers to choose from but George Younce was just first class.  My mom and Dad  were the most influential people in my gospel music career.  My mom played the piano and my dad sang bass in the choir.

My wife Kim and I have three sons...Jamey, Brock, and Kory..a sweet daughter in law, Cassandra (wife to Brock), and our grandson Jack.  We have a little Shih Tzu named Pad-me'.

God has blessed me with a family that loves the Lord, loves music, and loves to serve the Lord with their talents.  That truly is more than I deserve and on top of all that He has me a home in Heaven with a front porch made of gold where we'll pick and sing forever.  I hope to see you there!
